Harissa paste

Ingredients

makes 2-3 tbsp
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1½ tsp tomato paste
  • 30ml olive oil

Directions

  1. 1. Combine the tomato paste, minced garlic, chilli, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika and salt, and mix. Then add lemon juice and vinegar and mix again until a paste is formed.
  2. 2. Add the olive oil, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. 3. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.
